I’m so proud of myself! Not only did I receive A’s in BOTH of my graphic design classes this semester, but my NKY sign design was voted best in the class. The email to the class went like this:
“The proposals you all made for the project are an important aspect of community engagement for our university and I applaud your efforts. Next steps involve the task force (of which I am a member) getting together to come to agreement on the strongest proposals. Only finalists would be further contacted about possible refinements to the designs. Your vote for the strongest project proposal in the class goes to: Brad Shader. Congratulations, Brad!”
A “Welcome to Northern Kentucky” sign designed to be seen while driving down I-71/75 South from Cincinnati. It’s a colony of pillars that occupy the entire hillside and illuminate from within at night. Materials: hollow pillars made of stone, corner notches and letters are white opaque glass, lights inside are LEDs. Inspired by the surrounding nature, modern architecture, and a welcoming candle lit in the windowsill.
that I’m not doing right now..
COME ON BRAD GET BACK INTO THE SWING OF THINGS
Last semester ended really well and I got some pretty decent projects out of it (sorry I haven’t posted a lot of pics).
But this semester till be my toughest by far. I’ve gotten through one week and I can tell that my life is going to be hell up until May when I’m finished. GAH
Already I have a logo to design, another logo to design, design a business card, research jobs, research off-campus design organizations, I have to take photos of the alphabet (kind of a dumb project), design and bind a book, write up a proposal for my independent study, start researching the first part of my independent study, and figure out what the hell I’m going to do for my practicum.
And that’s all in just the next 2 weeks.
I’ll try to remember to post my progress on here… bleh.
